Venue

Horn Peninsula, Richterswil

Horn Peninsula, Richterswil

Horn area is a peninsula located at Richterswil on the Lake Zurich creating a beautiful scenery to host the championships. There will be plenty of space around for athletes, visitors, and an exhibition area.

The location offers a very affordable overnight option in the Youth Hostel right at the venue, for those who come across the country and want a good night sleep before the competition. You find more information on their website. Please ensure to book early, as we expect a full venue for that weekend.

We have prepared an overview map on Google Maps with the most important places.

Parking

Underground parking is available directly below the venue (see Google Maps). There is plenty of space to drive in and safely unload your board even for vans. An all-day parking card is CHF 8 and can be booked online on the website of Richterswil. When paying onsite, maximum parking is 6 hours (to be paid in coins). The parking is open between 6:00 and 22:00.

However, space is limited as it is a public space, and we recommend arriving early. Once the parking is occupied, boards can be unloaded at the designated area (see Google Maps) and cars can be parked a bit further away at another public parking (see Google Maps).

The best opportunity to test the most recent race boards!

Sports Village

We plan to have all the major SUP brands on-site with their most recent SUP race boards, ready to be tested by our participants. Access to the sports village and race board testing is included in the race registration and can be bought at the welcome desk for spectators.

Due to the pandemic, however, not all of their gear has (or will) arrived on time. The brands and we will do our best to provide a great opportunity to compare the gear.

The list is not complete yet, we will continue updating it.

This event would not be possible without our partners and sponsors. Thank you!

Local Organizer

WVR Logo

The watersports club Richterswil (WVR) was founded in 1975. For over 45 years, the club has united polysport enthusiasts in the sections sailing (windsurfing), SUP/kayak (paddle sports) and motorboat. The WVR is a member of Swiss Sailing and the Lake Zurich Sailing Association.

In addition to an active club life, the WVR provides its members with sailing boats, SUPs and kayaks/paddle boats. In addition, the WVR has an excellent infrastructure in the Shedhalle Horn with club room, checkroom and storage space directly on the lake at the Horn Richterswil.

The WVR has an active youth group with regular sail training (J&S), the regatta group also participates in regattas and training on other lakes. In the SUP/kayak section there are regular technique workshops and joint excursions. In addition, the WVR supports the adult sports instructor training SUP and canoe. The SUP section is in the process of being established and is the WVR member group that has grown the most in recent years.

The members of the WVR enjoy Lake Zurich together or individually, on the shore or on the water. Are you passionate about water sports and looking for like-minded people? Come and join the WVR!
